About
I am the first Green Party TD to be elected by the people of Wicklow to lead the battle against Climate Change and our Biodiversity emergency. I am a graduate of DIT Planning & Environmental Management. I completed an electrical apprenticeship and have worked for 25 years in railway signalling and engineering projects.
I served on Bray Town Council in 2007 and 2014 to 2020 as Wicklow County Councillor for the Bray District and was elected Cathaoirleach in 2016 & 2019. I served for 13 years on our town, county and regional Planning Policy committees and led the establishment of the first Climate & Biodiversity Action Strategic Policy Committee in Wicklow County Council. I am the Green Party spokesperson on Planning and Local Government and Chairperson of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Housing, Local Government & Heritage (including Planning, Biodiversity & Water)
I have been a member of the Green Party since 2003 and have worked over the last 18 years to protect our natural environment, on climate and biodiversity action, against inappropriate development, improving public transport and creating safe and enjoyable public open spaces. I represent all residents in Wicklow and every town and village across our beautiful county and I thank the people of Wicklow for the opportunity to do so.
I live in Bray and I am married with two young children
I am your Green Party TD representing all of County Wicklow
My vision for Wicklow
I am working to create a county where people want to live, work and create employment. I want liveable communities for all to enjoy. In towns with affordable, warm and secure housing options, with good public transport, safe cycling and walking and Safe Routes to School. Vibrant towns with strong local economies and active communities, providing employment opportunities, community services and well managed public open spaces, parks and playgrounds.
What I stand for
My priority is to protect our future generations against Climate breakdown and the severe impacts of biodiversity loss on our health, environment, communities, and our economy. My background and experience in Planning, Environmental Management and Transport enables me to create policies and plans to address these challenges and make that vision a reality – now and for the future.
Providing affordable housing, good transport, employment and a clean environment is the key to sustainability. A sustainable economy will provide for our health, education and social needs.
