Applications Now Open for Wicklow Arts funding

Green TD Steven Matthews is encouraging Wicklow artists to apply for funding announced by Wicklow County Council Arts Office. ‘The 2023 Arts Act Funding’ is designed to support artists in the development and production of a particular body of work. Artists from any discipline are eligible to apply for this scheme with applications open until the 27th of February 2023 at 4pm.

Speaking after the announcement, Deputy Matthews said:

“I am delighted to see that this funding has been made available for artists around Wicklow. We in Wicklow are so fortunate to have such a vibrant artistic community which plays an invaluable role in providing creative and imaginative spirit in a world that can often seem so serious. The purpose of this funding is to provide support for artists in the realisation of their artistic visions and to support the sector in the production of events and festivals.

“Having been fortunate enough to meet with many incredibly talented artists around Wicklow, the issue which has been raised with me time and time again is the lack of support for the arts. The vital role played by the sector is clear and I hope that this funding will provide a sense of relief to successful applicants and allow them to continue their invaluable work.

“I would like to invite artists in Wicklow to apply for this funding as soon as possible. Artists from many disciplines such as film, music, theatre, and dance are eligible for this scheme amongst many others. If any artists have any questions regarding eligibility for funding, or require assistance with the application process, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me directly,” concluded Deputy Matthews.

All applications must be submitted through ‘Submittable’, an online submission management platform which is available at : Downloadable guidelines relating to each scheme and further information can be found on
