CSR Programme Launched in Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School

Green TD Steven Matthews was delighted to be invited to Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School to attend the launch of the CSR programme run by SchoolComputers.ie. The school was awarded €20,000 worth of computers and other technology upgrades and invited Deputy Matthews along with special guest rugby star Jack Conan along to mark the day.

Known as The Education Mega Draw, the programme was initiated in May 2022 with the aim of empowering schools across Ireland by providing them with much-needed support for enhancing their educational technology infrastructure.

Deputy Matthews said,  “It was fantastic to launch this programme with the teachers and pupils of Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School. This is a hugely welcome initiative that shows great use of the circular economy with refurbished and remanufactured items. The products are all high specification and sourced from corporate contracts with companies such as Lenovo, Dell, HP & Fujitsu – they then go through an extensive remanufacturing ISO Certified process.

As part of a Technology Makeover, Wicklow ETSS is receiving is 22 Remanufactured Lenovo Laptops.

“I have worked with the school on a series of events and am consistently impressed by the staff and students, both their work ethic and enthusiasm for improving their educational offering.

Special thanks to Principal John Maddock and Deputy Principal Sarah Hayward for inviting me and for consistently engaging on various interesting projects that the school are working on.”
