I raised the very important, albeit not very glamorous, issue of septic tanks in the Dáil this week and the urgent need to improve inspection rates for both public health and the potential environmental impact that faulty systems can have.
Welcome news earlier this week that the grant for septic tank upgrades as been increased from €5,000 to €12,000 so I would encourage anyone with a septic tank to consider looking into this.
