Great News for Wicklow as 19 Heritage Landmarks and Buildings Receive Funding

Green TD Steven Matthews has welcomed the inclusion of 19 Wicklow Historic Buildings and Landmarks in the Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2023. This Scheme is provided to help fund the maintenance and restoration of heritage sites across Wicklow.

Speaking after the announcement of the funding, Deputy Matthews said:

“This is great news for Wicklow. The many historic heritage buildings and landmarks which we are lucky enough to have in Wicklow play an incredibly important role in maintaining a link to the rich and proud history of the county. Moreover, they provide an invaluable sense of vibrancy to both our rural and urban landscapes. I have no doubt that this funding will provide welcome assistance to the owners and operators of these priceless amenities.

“I have had the opportunity to work closely with Minister for Heritage Malcolm Noonan on many heritage projects and I have taken great pleasure in showing him the particular importance of our built heritage in Wicklow. I look forward to seeing the wonderful work for which the funds will be used in the near future.
