Matthews welcomes new public information hubs on Codling Wind Bank Project

Date: 25 January 2022

The company working on the Codling Wind Park have confirmed that they will be hosting public information clinics by appointment in Greystones, Kilcoole and Wicklow Town on the second, third and fourth Wednesdays (respectively) of every month, between 10am and 12pm to answer any questions residents may have in relation to the project. Discussing the news, Deputy Matthews said:

“These public information clinics are extremely positive additions to the project plans, and I hope that anybody with any questions will be able to drop in at some stage in the coming months to get the information they need. I am frequently contacted by residents regarding various aspects of the Codling project, and I am more than happy to get answers for them but having a drop-in location with a one stop shop of all the required information is of huge benefit to local people who have very genuine questions.

“I meet frequently with various project managers and one issue that I have consistently flagged is the importance of keeping local people informed at every step of the way. The potential benefit to the community is huge in terms of the creation of green jobs, community gain schemes as well as being a key centre of green energy creation. These hubs are about making information and updates regarding the Codling Wind Park project as accessible as possible to the communities closest to the project.

The opening days and times are all available on the Codling Wind Park website: www.codlingwindpark.ie/information-clinics/ and you need to book an appointment to ensure that the venue isn’t overcrowded and to avoid queues.

The locations of the information hubs are:

Greystones: Room 3 Unit 3, The Burnaby Buildings, Church Road, Greystones

Kilcoole: Kilcoole Community Centre, Lott Lane, Kilcoole

Wicklow Town: Room 2, Wentworth Place, Wicklow Town

“If there are any residents who do have questions about the Codling project and are not able to visit the information hubs for any reason, I would encourage them to get in contact with me and I will do my best to get any information they need. Alternatively, if residents would prefer to speak with someone from the Codling project on the phone or by email, I would be more than happy to put them in touch directly, concluded Deputy Matthews.
