Fantastic news today for solar power. The Oireachtas Housing committee which I chair, this morning approved recommendations for planning exemptions for solar panel installations.
This means planning permission will no longer be required for homes, farm buildings, schools, community centres and a range of commercial buildings.
Following referral to the Dail next week I would expect exemptions to be in place within a number of days.
