Following the damage done at The Murrough over the weekend by Storm Babet, I spoke in the Dáil this morning to raise the urgent need to ramp up our protection of the East Coast rail line and surrounding areas. I welcome the Government's investment and commitment to protect this vital infrastructure and I will continue to work towards the provision of the long term East Coast Railway Infrastructure Protection Projects (ECRIPP) to ensure the viability of the railway in the face of increasing severe weather events.
